SUNPORTAL CS and DS Systems

A hybrid system for small and large scale projects incorporating LED technology for back up lighting. The system can be integrated into existing buildings aswell as new developments.

How it works:

1. Sunportal Collector tracks the sun throughout the day and redirects sunlight towards the Sunportal Concentrator unit.

2. Sunportal Concentrator filters out unwanted UV and IR rays, and then focuses the visible sunlight into a concentrated beam and channel it into a building.

3. Sunportal Relay Lens is strategically positioned to capture and transmit the concentrated sunbeam within the building.

4. Sunportal Pipe is placed between the Sunportal Relay Lenses in order to prevent the dust accumulation on the surface of each relay lens unit.

5. Sunportal Bender is used to change the course of the light beam towards any vertical or horizontal direction.

6. Sunportal Splitter extracts a portion of the light beam from the main light pipe and guides it onto the Sunportal Luminaire or into a different direction.

7. Sunportal Luminaire™ diffuses the concentrated sunbeam and evenly distributes soft, natural daylight from the ceiling.

8. Sunportal LED Lighting kits, which can be integrated into both Sunportal Relay Lens and Sunportal Luminaire, automatically switches on and off according to the amount of daylight available outside the building, maintaining the original lighting design of the interior space at all times.

CS 1500

The 1st generation of large scale Sunportal system that delivers over 66,000 peak lumens of natural light through a series of Ø200mm diametre optical relay lenses with minimal light loss and colour distortion for any distance up to 200m within a building. It also offers a fully integrated LED lighting technology which provides consistent, uniform illumination of desired interior spaces in even overcast and night-time conditions.

Himawari

Distributing natural sun light with fibre optics

The solar lighting system harnesses natural sunlight through the light collecting lens unit and travels through optical fibre cables emitting light on the other side into the rooms of homes, offices, factories, warehouses and other areas where natural light is hard to get through.

The system screens out almost all ultraviolet rays allowing a relaxed atmosphere which is gentle on the skin and eyes.

Two different models cater for the home or small business environment, the 12AS powered by conventional 240v or the 12AS-SB solar powered unit. Both units are equipped with two, six core fibre optical cables.

Each fibre core is connected to a lens on the sunlight collector. The light travels through each of the 1mm fibre cores to the light output terminal in the designated area for the natural light to shine.

Both the 12AS or 12AS-SB units have a total of 12 light output terminals that can be connected. Each terminal can be placed close together for maximum light output or to various areas.

Terminals are finished with a fitting to suit the area and the lighting requirements. Fittings can be a spotlight, focal light or downlight depending on the application, different fittings suit different purposes.

SunBeamer™

The SunBeamer™ is a revolutionary lighting product that delivers full-spectrum sunlight to previously inaccessible areas in buildings.

How it works

The SunBeamer™ tracks the sun autonomously, maintaining a stationary, collimated beam of light throughout the day. This revolutionary product is used in skylights, atria and with tubular devices to deliver glare-free, full spectrum sunlight to previously inaccessible areas. It is also the tracking component of the SunCentral System™. Standard and custom lenses and reflectors are available, providing architects and lighting designers with unlimited design possibilities. The SunBeamer™ also provides significant electrical energy savings when coupled with a daylight harvesting system by shutting off electrical lighting when the sun shines.

SunCentral System™

The SunCentral System™ is a revolutionary horizontal sunlighting solution that distributes full-spectrum, glare-free sunlight up to 50 feet within multi-storey buildings. The system outperforms traditional daylighting methods by delivering sunlight and LED light to previously inaccessible areas.

How it works

The SunCentral System™ features SunBeamers™ integrated within a cantilevered canopy or an atrium, that capture and redirect sunlight on any side of the building, including the north side. Collimated beams of sunlight are transmitted through air to the SunShade™ and the SunSpandrel™, where the sunlight is concentrated and piped into the building up to 50 feet through the hybrid SunLuminaire™.

The SunLuminaire™ features integrated LED lighting that is automatically dimmed when sunlight is present.

The SunCentral System™ drastically improves light quality and can reduce electric lighting load by up to 75% of business hours.
